What a surreal experience. Since I was a child I was desperate to go to Romania and visit Bran castle. Whilst it is smaller than you may think, it is a beautiful castle to visit, not in the grand way… Full review by emilyAS95

October will be colder I assumed if you will to enter the last quarter of the year the winter season is approaching. i dont remember if there were plenty to sit from the entrance to the castle. however there are benches visible. you may bring if you wish thus wont be necessary. The entrance ramp is manageable not to steep just wear very comfortable shoes not slippery ones and have fun.

You cannot drive up to the castle normally, the way up is through a congested pedestrian tourist area. There are plenty of car parks in Bran and your mother could have a nice snack before the castle. The entrance walkway is quite wide actually and didnt feel scary. She could avoid the rooftop views, the rooms inside are quite small and homely as such.
