Would this be an enjoyable kids activity? What age range?

Any kid that would enjoy old cars...from real antiques to 1970's. The tour guide customizes the tour to fit the group. My kids at 5-6 year old, really liked old cars.
Can we go on a self guided tour of museum. We only have a very short time to spend in Chattanooga, and would love to see the museum, but we are afraid a tour might be too long for us. Thank you.
