This is an absolutely beautiful and touching monument. We were not able to go up in it, but just walked around at night. It was lit up beautifully. Nearby police helped us feel safe. Full review by Melissa H

Sully06, the museum is under the big monument on monument circle in downtown Indy, and has, as you can imagine, a circular street all around it, like a big roundabout, but with stop lights. The only parking is in garages, and I saw some on the way there, but I walked from my hotel near the state capital building several blocks away, so I did not take note of the locations of the garages. There appeared to be several in the area, though, and I don't know how expensive they are, but probably typical for a city downtown area. Frankly, unless you're a really fanatic Civil War buff, I wouldn't make a separate trip to park and see this museum. We had already parked our rental car at the hotel, and as I said, it was only a few blocks away, so despite the chilling drizzle and wind, I made the trek (October). I hope this helps you.
