Hi... It can be quite weedy. The city did alot of work on the beach area, it's pretty good for a gradual drop off.But everyone is different so you may find the drop off too quick where the next person finds it just right. I myself would go and try it out myself first then let my kids go in to whatever depth that I thought was good for my kids. There is lots of young kids there but I would always be there with them. Hope this helps you in making your decesion .

Chestermere Lake is on the way to Calgary from Strathmore Alberta. I know that there are many people that live on the lake and they access it the lake that way. I know that you can put a boat in from the boat launch site, there is a beach where you can tan. I would like to caution you on the weeds in the water not necessarily cleared away.
