The city did alot of work on the beach area, it's pretty good for a gradual drop off.But everyone is different so you may find the drop off too quick where the next person finds it just right. I myself would go and try it out myself first then let my kids go in to whatever depth that I thought was good for my kids. There is lots of young kids there but I would always be there with them. Hope this helps you in making your decesion .
I've read, that it is pricey to get into the park. Does this mean you have to pay to use, also do they have bike trails? Visitors and staying at Mountain View park but would like to get a bit of swimming in before continuing our explorations of Alberta.

Chestermere Lake is on the way to Calgary from Strathmore Alberta. I know that there are many people that live on the lake and they access it the lake that way. I know that you can put a boat in from the boat launch site, there is a beach where you can tan. I would like to caution you on the weeds in the water not necessarily cleared away.
I am looking for lakefront/lakeview accomodation (hotel/B and B). All I can find is the Chestermere Lake Inn. Any other suggestions? Can you rent kayaks and bikes somewhere? Thank you.
