On the heels of major shows of force by federal immigration agents in Southern California, a judge is set to rule in a lawsuit seeking to halt immigration raids in Los Angeles.

A federal judge in California issued two restraining orders blocking federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from conducting random detentions of people in Los Angeles and denying access to legal advice.

It’s also unclear if other California State Universtiy campuses in the Los Angeles region or elsewhere in the state will be offering similar accommodations. The Cal State L.A. and the CSU system have previously offered remote options during the pandemic and wildfires and given the option to students on military deployment.
