With a busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend upon us AAA is getting ready to keep drivers, passengers and pedestrians safe on the roads.

AAA offers a free "Tow to Go" service to prevent impaired driving during Thanksgiving, available to everyone, not just members, until the morning of December 2nd.

The AAA program, which ends at 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, is available in Florida as well as Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Colorado (Denver), North Carolina (Charlotte), Indiana (Fort Wayne/South Bend). The service, which offers a ride for drivers and vehicle towing, is free but AAA urges it to be used as a last resort.

In an effort to reduce impaired driving, AAA will be offering its “ Tow-to-Go ” service. It will be widely available in Florida and 10 other states. AAA has already projected that there will be some 71.7 million Americans taking road trips during the Thanksgiving stretch this year, a record number of travelers for the holiday.

This Thanksgiving AAA estimates that more than 50 thousand Tennesseans will take to the air, and even more to the road to visit family and loved ones for the holiday.
