While Celtic's position in the Scottish Premiership is characteristically excellent, they find themselves in the middle of the pack in the Champions League, just inside the new-format playoff qualification spots. Having said that, a win on Wednesday would secure their place beyond this opening round.

Celtic continue their Champions League campaign today with a win over bottom-placed Young Boys as the Champions League returns. The revamped league stage sees 36 teams compete in a single table with the top 24 progressing. Teams seeded one to eight go into the last 16 while nine to 24 compete in a playoff.

Celtic are the hosts this week as they welcome Swiss Champions BSC Young Boys to Glasgow in the UEFA Champions League.

Young Boys have conceded 22 goals in this season's Champions League, the most of any side and the most they've ever conceded in a major European season. They have shipped five plus goals in three games this season, with no side ever doing so in four different major European games in one season before.
