A Washington state woman has been charged in the fatal shooting of a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was killed days after authorities began watching her and a German companion who also died in the highway firefight.

A criminal complaint filed in federal court accuses Teresa Youngblut of assault as Agent David Maland's casket brought to Colonie for flight home to Minnesota.

U.S. Border Patrol Agent David “Chris” Maland, 44, was shot and killed during a traffic stop near the Canadian border Monday. He is a native of Blue Earth and graduate of Fairmont High School in Minnesota.

The body of Maland, who was killed Monday in a shooting following a traffic stop 20 miles south of the Canadian border, is moved to a funeral home.

The FBI said Friday that it arrested a Washington state woman in the fatal shooting of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Vermont this week and identified the German man who was killed.
