Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to welcome a surge in travellers as the winter holiday season unfolds, with more than 5.2m guests expected between December 13 and 31. The daily average is projected at 274,000 guests, with Friday, December 20, anticipated to be the busiest day of the period, hosting nearly 296,000 guests.

As per Gulf News report, the airport forecasts a daily average of 274,000 travellers, with December 20 marking the peak day, as nearly 296,000 guests are expected to arrive and depart. The weekend from December 20 to 22 will see a total of around 880,000 passengers.

Last year, more than 75,000 Emirates customers departed Dubai International Airport daily, but in 2024, these numbers have risen as high as 89,000 on some days. It represents an increase of almost 20 per cent, the company said.
