A woman was shot to death late Monday afternoon in a Fairfield neighborhood. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Erykah Nameke Tate. She was 26 and lived in Fairfield. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded at 4:50 p.

According to Henry Irby with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 4:50 p.m. to investigate a report of a person shot in the 400 block of Forest Drive. At the scene, deputies discovered a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Fairfield Fire and Rescue Department personnel pronounced the woman dead.
