Four Italian soldiers were lightly wounded amid clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

The group’s supporters remain steadfast in the face of widespread displacement and thousands of deaths.

Israeli troops have fought fierce battles with Hezbollah fighters in different areas in south Lebanon, including a coastal town that is home to the headquarters of U.N. peacekeepers.

Successive Israeli strikes pummelled Hezbollah's south Beirut stronghold on Thursday as authorities said raids in eastern Lebanon killed 22 people, and Hezbollah claimed its deepest attack on Israel in more than a year of hostilities.

Israeli forces pounded southern Lebanon and the outskirts of the capital Beirut on Friday, killing at least five medics, and ground troops clashed with Hezbollah fighters in the south. Israel has pushed on with its intense military campaign against the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah,
