Oscar nominated director Jim Sheridan has been photographed in the RDS count centre in Dublin as Gerry Hutch remained in contention to win a seat in Dublin

Film maker Jim Sheridan has said “anger” is behind the “surprising” result for convicted criminal Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch who is still in the running for a seat in Dublin Central.

Gerard The Monk Hutch arrived to the RDS count centre to a media circus on Sunday afternoon as he was knocked out of the Dublin Central race during the final election count. Mr Hutch arrived to the count just after 3pm and stayed for 30 minutes but did not want to speak to the media.
