The University of Florida has officially selected an area in LaVilla near the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center as the site for the school’s new graduate campus in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida has chosen a location for its new graduate campus in Jacksonville dubbed the “ Florida Semiconductor Institute .” UF has been offering classes at a temporary site — the new JEA headquarters on Pearl Street — and plans to remain there for up to five years during construction.

The Deegan administration will work with City Council to provide 22 acres for construction around the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center.
