A detailed report from The Athletic's Sam Amick and Jovan Buha released Friday revealed that, although James was willing to take a salary hit last offseason to help the Lakers' roster, the 40-year-old star is "not expected" to consider such a sacrifice should he play in 2025, per league sources.

Lakers star LeBron James suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Timberwolves, a source told ESPN.

According to Jovan Buha and Sam Amick of The Athletic, James is not expected to take a pay cut to accommodate the Lakers like he did last offseason when he took about $2.7 million less in order to help the Lakers stay under the second salary apron.
