Microsoft has confirmed that it has blocked the Windows 11 24H2 update on PCs with certain Ubisoft Assassin's Creed and Star Wars games.

Microsoft has confirmed via a support document that there are some problems its aware of within Windows 11 24H2, an important Windows 11 update.

Microsoft confirms that the Windows 11 24H2 update is giving users a real headache with various problems including trashing game audio for gamers.

Microsoft says a Windows 24H2 bug causes game audio to unexpectedly increase to full volume when using USB DAC sound systems.

Hotpatching, as the name suggests, means that the update does not require any system reboot, nor does it need any user intervention and they are applied immediately. However, Microsoft assures no comprise in the level of security provided. Thus it will be installed automatically via the Windows Update. It explains:

The best way to get the Windows 11 24H2 update is through the standard method used for any other Windows update. First, make sure you're connected to the internet, then open the Settings app on your computer. Click on the "Windows Update" option in the left sidebar, and select the "Check for Updates" button on the right.
