Back in September, Miley Cyrus was accused of plagiarizing Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” for her Grammy Award-winning single, “Flowers.” According to People, Cyrus is fighting back against the copyright infringement lawsuit.

Miley Cyrus filed a response to being sued by Tempo Music Investments for allegedly plagiarizing Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” for her Grammy-winning song “Flowers.”

In their filing, lawyers for Cyrus and her co-writers say the hitmakers “categorically deny copying” Mars’ song, adding that “the allegedly copied elements [of ‘Flowers’] are random, scattered, unprotected ideas and musical building blocks.”
