Mixed martial arts will make its Asian Games debut next year in Nagoya, Japan, while cricket will remain on the programme after its controversial return at Hangzhou, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said.

Olympic Council of Asia says MMA will feature six events but there is uncertainty over where the cricket matches will be played in Nagoya.

Cricket has been played thrice in the Asian Games and featured in the 2022 Games in Hangzhou too. The Indian men's and women's teams are the defending champions, having won the gold medal in the last Games.
