A flood watch will go into effect Wednesday afternoon across much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties as weather officials warn about heavy rainfall and debris flows. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from Wednesday evening until Thursday afternoon.

Flood watches are in effect for most of L.A. County, with the possibility for flooding across the area. Schoenfeld said there’s a 30% to 50% chance of major flooding impacts in burn scar areas with concerns for mudslides, road erosion, debris flows and cars being stuck in mud.

Several days of rain forecast for the rest of the week has Southern California's burn area residents setting up K-rails and sandbags to prevent flooding. Carlos Herrera reports for the KTLA 5 Morning News on March 11,

Parts of the North Bay were hit hard by heavy rain and strong winds on Wednesday, causing slick roads, accidents, and flooding. The storm also raised concerns for PG&E, as downed trees and branches threaten power lines.

A fast-moving storm system is sweeping into the Bay Area and Central Coast, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and the possibility of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory is in effect from 8 a.
