AT&T has introduced a new feature to protect consumer and business accounts from SIM-swapping attacks. Wireless Account Lock will be able to disable several key account changes, a key part of SIM-swapping, which can give attackers control of a victim’s phone number and lets them intercept SMS-based two-factor authentication app codes.

AT&T has a nifty new way of ensuring that its customers don't get SIM swapped.

On Tuesday, AT&T revealed Wireless Account Lock, a new protection designed to curb the SIM-swap scams. When activated, the lock prevents changes from being made to a SIM until it's turned off again. The on/off button for Wireless Account Lock is available in the settings of the myAT&T mobile app.
