A controversial moment in the IPL 2025 auction saw Akash Ambani leaving his table to shake hands with the RCB table after Will Jacks wasn't RTM'd by Bangalore.

Punjab Kings and MI got into a fierce bidding war for the England batter, pushing the bid up to ₹5 crore. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had the chance to use their Right To Match (RTM) card but chose not to.

Starting from a base price of Rs 2 crore the bid reached Rs 5 crore and that's when Punjab took a back seat. However, it was still not confirmed as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had the opportunity to exercise their Right To Match (RTM) card for the player.

Akash got up, went over to the RCB table and shook hands with the CEO. He was thanking him for not using RTM. By not doing so, RCB allowed MI to take Jacks. The CEO gracefully accepted Akash’s thanks but the internet was left confused.

Will Jacks, who smashed a 41-ball century for RCB against GT in IPL 2024, will join Mumbai Indians for IPL 2025. MI secured him for Rs 5.25 crore after RCB surprisingly opted not to use their RTM card.
