JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Houston Texans LB Azeez Al-shaair will be suspended three games for the vicious hit he laid on Trevor Lawrence on Sunday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars should shut down quarterback Trevor Lawrence for the rest of the season. It's the smart thing to do, especially with the 2-10 Jaguars all but eliminated from playoff contention headed into Sunday’s game at 3-9 Tennessee.

Houston's Azeez Al-Shaair was suspended by the NFL without pay for three games Tuesday for repeated violations of player safety rules following his hit to the head of Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence, which led to a concussion.

The NFL's vice president of football operations said the league deemed the hit "unacceptable" and that Al-Shaair's "continued disregard" for rules governing player safety "will not be tolerated."
