There were no immediate reports of casualties in the latest explosion of Mount Kanlaon, on central Negros island, but it prompted authorities to immediately shut schools and impose an overnight curfew.

Nearly 87,000 people in the Philippines have been ordered to leave their homes immediately following the strongest eruption of Mount Kanlaon in recent years.
