Russian ice skating world champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov and “several members” of the US figure skating team were on board the American Airlines flight that collided with a military helicopter on Wednesday night (Thursday AEDT).

Multiple figure skaters and coaches who took part in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships were reportedly aboard an airplane that crashed above Washington D.C.

U.S. Figure Skating released a statement confirming some of their members were among the 64 people aboard the American Airlines flight that collided with an Army helicopter Wednesday night.
