High school girls’ flag football has officially become a state-sanctioned sport in Pennsylvania, thanks to the joint efforts of the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).

Girls flag football is now a sanctioned sport in Pennsylvania thanks to some help from the state's two NFL programs, the Steelers and Eagles.

The sport has emerged across the area. Now, schools will have the support of the PIAA and access to compete for championships sponsored by the state.
