Strong's late 3 lifts Boston College past Missouri State, 76-74 in Cayman Islands semifinal
GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- — Elijah Strong knocked down a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left in overtime to lift Boston College to a 76-74 win over Missouri State on Monday night to advance to the championship game of the Cayman Islands Classic.
Donald Hand Jr. scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Fred Payne added 11 points and Boston College cruised to 82-53 win over Old Dominion in the opening round of the Cayman Islands Classic.
ODU, which lost to Boston College in its tournament opener, will face Duquesne in the seventh-place game at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The eight-team Cayman Islands Classic features notable mid-major programs and will be played Sunday through Tuesday.
