Bajaj Auto has swung into action after a Chetak electric scooter was found burning at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (called Aurangabad previously), in Western Maharashtra.

A video of smoke emanating from a Bajaj Chetak electric scooter in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has gone viral, after which leading two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto said the incident is being probed.

On December 5, two farmers noticed smoke rising from their Chetak scooter while waiting at a traffic signal on Jalna Road. Fire brigade officials quickly stepped in and stopped the smoke by spraying water.

Bajaj has sold more than 3,00,000 units of the Chetak electric scooter since its launch in India in January 2020.
