A man was arrested after police said he threw Molotov cocktails at a home in Battle Creek overnight Monday into Tuesday. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Battle Creek police and fire departments were called to a home on Piper Avenue for reports of gunfire and a house fire.

Officers found a smoldering Molotov cocktail on the front porch when they arrived. The resident told police that this was the second attack of the night, stating a suspect had thrown a Molotov cocktail at the home shortly after midnight, but it failed to ignite and went unreported.

A man who threw two Molotov cocktails at the same house just hours apart was arrested by police when he made a third pass at the home.
