Magic: The Gathering has revealed a look at its forthcoming Final Fantasy -themed set. In an interview with IGN, senior game designer Daniel Holt talked about the collaboration and this initial look, which focuses on four major character cards and their associated pre-constructed Commander decks.

The Gathering x Final Fantasy set references old Final Fantasy mistranslations. The classic Final Fantasy games often had errors in their text that became memes. Garland's iconic mistranslated line from FF1 appears in Magic: The Gathering as an homage.

Over the last several years, the iconic collectible card game Magic: The Gathering has produced several crossovers with popular video games. These games include Fallout and Assassin’s Creed, among others.
