Notre Dame didn't accomplish its biggest team goal of 2024, but did take huge steps in moving the program forward despite a national championship game loss.

Notre Dame is an independent but plays four other ACC schools. The dates for those games have yet to be set but the opponents are: at Pitt, at Boston College, North Carolina State, and Syracuse. The Miami game is scheduled for Hard Rock Stadium on Aug. 30 but it could move anywhere from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1.

The Buckeyes became the first two-loss national champion in 18 years with a 34-23 win over Notre Dame. Ohio State was far better than the Fighting Irish for the first 40 minutes of the game, but needed to stave off a late push from Notre Dame to get the victory.
