Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked if he watched the inauguration of President Donald Trump on Monday. He said he watched Boston Celtics tape instead.
Steve Kerr explains why he skipped the presidential inauguration, with a humorous yet serious response to the question.
Kerr has been an outspoken critic of Trump for years, even appearing at the Democratic National Convention to speak out in support of former vice president Kamala Harris ' presidential campaign. November's DNC took place in Chicago's United Center, where Kerr won three championships as a player with the Chicago Bulls.
Kerr's Warriors repeated as champions in 2017 and ’18, and no team has done it since. “I wouldn’t worry about the Celtics if I were one of their fans,” Kerr said.
SAN FRANCISCO — The Celtics have hit a slog in their schedule as it’s clear they haven’t been playing their best basketball of late. While they still have the second-best record in the East, they’re just 8-8 over their last 16 games as inconsistencies and other issues have bogged them down.
As Kerr said, Tatum did not complain about his reduced role for the national squad, despite the fact that he was coming off an NBA championship with the Celtics at that time. Instead, the five-time All-Star humbly accepted his role for Team USA and did all he could to help the squad achieve its ultimate goal.
Steph Curry can’t carry the Warriors on his own. Jayson Tatum hasn’t forgotten about the Olympics.

The Bulls game starts a stretch of six straight home games, with the Lakers, Utah and Oklahoma City on a back-to-back, Phoenix and Orlando coming to town. None of those are cakewalk games — if such a thing even exists for the Warriors, who started 12-3 and are since 9-18.
Curry believes a stretch of games will determine whether Golden State can salvage what has been a frustrating season so far.
