Back-to-back NCAA Tournament champion UConn narrowly avoided falling out of the AP Top 25 college basketball poll entirely on Monday after an 0-3 week at the Maui Invitational in which it lost to three unranked teams in as many days.

It was the second time in AP poll history, according to ESPN Stats & Information, that AP-Top 5 teams lost at least five games in a calendar week in November (following Nov. 21-27 in 2021). Look at the rest of last week's AP Top 25 and there were more upsets and surprise results.

It was anyone's guess where the Gonzaga Bulldogs would fall in the weekly polls and rankings upon their return home from a 2-1 showing in the Battle 4 Atlantis

Kansas held off Auburn for the No. 1 ranking in The Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll on Monday as Southeastern Conference teams grabbed three of the top four spots and two-time reigning national champion UConn nearly fell out entirely after an 0-3 week at the Maui Invitational.

Just a week after receiving six first place votes and holding at No. 2 in the nation, the UConn men’s basketball team plummeted, but held on to a Top 25 ranking, as it came in at No. 25 in this week’s AP Poll.
