An envoy of President Donald Trump said Thursday that Ukraine has itself to blame for the US suspension of war aid and compared the shock move to hitting a stubborn farm animal with a piece of wood.

Ukraine's position is weaker after a fight between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In Saudi Arabia, the countries hope to get back on track.

"We're not going to go down that path," Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, said at the Munich Security Conference.

US President Donald Trump has welcomed Ukraine agreeing to the ceasefire after the peace talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and further affirmed hope that Russia will also agree to it.Stating that soldiers of both Russia and Ukraine are being killed in this "horrible war",

The ball is now in Russia’s court. But Russia excels at grabbing the ball, pocketing it and debating the rules of the game before claiming the ball has in fact been stolen clean from them by the other team.

Russia continually refuses to make concessions in peace negotiations with Ukraine, which could prolong the war and result in higher casualties.

Top Trump administration officials will meet with a Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia Tuesday. Meantime, House Republicans are working to pass a stopgap bill to avert a government shutdown at the end of the week.
