Spartan Stadium was built in 1923 and has a capacity of 74,866. Recent upgrades include $13 million spent on the south end prior to the 2017 season and $24.5 million to renovate the north end in a project that included new locker rooms, an engagement center and media room completed in 2014.

Here's what upgrades are coming to Spartan Stadium after the Board of Trustees' approval

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees voted ‘yes’ to update facilities throughout Spartan Stadium. Spartan Stadium has been the home of the MSU football team since 1923. MSU reports that in recent studies the university has found the stadium’s facilities to be deficient compared to peers in the Power 4 conferences.

The plan includes replacing videoboards, renovating the West Tower and authorizing the planning of future modernization throughout the stadium.
