The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter storm warnings and advisories across seven states: Michigan, Indiana, Alaska, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Blowing snowfall, hazardous travel conditions and reduced visibility are expected in many areas.

Some five million people across the Great Lakes and southern Appalachians are under winter weather alerts Monday morning, with the snow and rain that has disrupted the post-holiday travel period in the Northeast set to last well into the working week.

On Monday at 3:17 a.m. EST the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning valid from 10 a.m. EST until Tuesday 10 a.m. EST for Cass and Berrien counties.
