Unfortunate news hit the Auburn Tigers basketball program on Saturday, just months after the team wrapped up an impressive 2024–25 season with an SEC regular

Five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt, the No. 6 player in the 2026 class, will officially visit Auburn, Alabama, and Kentucky. Holt, a 6-foot-5 guard, recently transferred to Prolific Prep after leading Grayson High School to the GHSA AAAAAA semifinals.

At season's end, Auburn had the worst field-goal unit in the nation, making 54.5% of its attempts. Simultaneously, it got a down year from longtime punter Oscar Chapman, who registered the third-worst punt yardage average in the SEC.

Auburn's recent recruiting struggles are rare under Freeze. Since he took over in 2023, he has had top 10 classes in the 2024 and 2025 cycles. However, the results still have yet to come for Freeze, who enters 2025 with an 11-14 record and one bowl game appearance.

At the end of SEC Media Days each year, the media in attendance votes on the predicted order of finish and the All-SEC teams. Auburn will be a team to watch when the predicted order of finish is released.
