When the Phoenix Suns traded Kevin Durant to Houston, there were calls from outside the organization to blow everything up — trade Devin Booker, trade or waive Bradley Beal, strip it down to the studs and rebuild.

On Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Devin Booker has reached an agreement with the Suns for a contract extension worth $145 million over two years. It is the "highest annual extension salary in NBA history," surpassing the five-year, $285 million deal that the Oklahoma City Thunder handed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander this offseason.
