A onetime New York State judge who was convicted of taking bribes from defendants threatened to burn down an upstate polling place this week, police said.

A man has been charged with punching an election judge at a polling place in Orland Park, after refusing to wait in line for early voting on Sunday morning.The 74-year-old longtime election judge said in his nearly 40 years volunteering at the polls,

Daniel Schmidt reportedly went into the building and walked past numerous other voters waiting in line to enter the voting area.

Orland Park police said Daniel Schmidt was restrained after trying to blow past a line of waiting voters Sunday.
