The first of two victims in Monday's Madison school shooting has been identified as Rubi Patricia Vergara, 14. Her family authorized the release of the Madison teen's obituary early Wednesday evening, according to Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation in Monona.

Rubi Patricia Vergara was an “avid reader” and full of artistic promise, according to her obituary. She sang and played keyboard in a family band and “shared a special bond with her beloved pets,” Ginger the cat and Coco the dog.
