Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia plans to offer Kevin Durant a $120 million extension this summer after he said the two sides bypassed the eligible one-year agreement in July. Ishbia told ESPN there's mutual interest in a deal that would bring both sides closer to their goal of the 14-time NBA All-Star retiring with the franchise eventually.

Durant currently has two years left on his deal, and the Suns opted to wait until the offseason to ink him to an extension rather than only extending him by one season earlier in the year. Despite maintained rumored interest from the Houston Rockets, Phoenix appears to be intent on keeping Durant around for the long haul.

Different reports have hinted that the Phoenix Suns might shop their best player, but Mat Ishbia has a different viewpoint.
