The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says 59-year-old Cecil Day was arrested on Nov. 18 in Otsego County and arraigned on four charges: possession of a firearm with a blood alcohol level over .08%, not wearing hunter’s orange, and a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
DNR reports 172K deer harvests so far in 2024, reminds hunters to report within 72 hours
As hunters continue to enjoy the rest of firearm season, the DNR is also reminding them to report their harvest within 72 hours or before they transfer the deer to someone else such as a processor or taxidermist. Hunters must add a paper kill tag to the deer and the tag must remain with the head if the deer’s head and body are separated.
