The New York Jets fired Joe Douglas this week. Savage, 59, was previously a senior football advisor for the team since 2019 when Douglas was originally hired. Savage previously worked with Douglas with the Philadelphia Eagles and also worked with other teams including the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens:

Douglas was fired Tuesday as the Jets' general manager, the latest shakeup for a franchise that had Super Bowl aspirations with a healthy Aaron Rodgers at quarterback but has limped to a 3-8 start and appears likely to miss the playoffs for a 14th consecutive year.

The New York Jets will be looking for a new head coach and general manager this offseason after firing Joe Douglas.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee show, Rodgers offered a completely different thought process compared to what had been previously reported. Not only did the 41-year-old suggest he could play next season, but that he would be more than happy to return to the Jets.

The ailing New York Jets are in the midst of an organizational overhaul, already in search of a new head coach and general manager, and headed toward an anticipated breakup with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
