The Oklahoma City Thunder dominated their way through the regular season and that continued into the first round of the playoffs. Oklahoma City was matched up against Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, and the series was never a close one. The Thunder dominated Game 1 by 51 points before blowing out the Grizzlies by 19 points in Game 2.

Sixteen teams in total make the NBA playoffs, eight teams from both the Eastern and Western Conference. The top six seeds in each conference advance based on the regular season record. The final two seeds in each conference are determined by the NBA Play-In Tournament.
