SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo ISD school board voted to close San Jacinto Elementary, effective July 1 , 2025. They said the building is "clearly at a critical point" and it's no longer able to house children.

During a meeting on Jan. 21, the ISD School Board unanimously voted to expand enrollment boundaries at Reagan and close San Jacinto at the end of the spring semester.

San Jacinto Elementary will close in July. The San Angelo school board made a tough decision to close a school that’s been open for over 100 years. During the school board meeting on Tuesday, before they voted the board members heard pleas from parents of the children that this will directly affect.
