As historic winter weather brings frigid temperatures to much of the U.S., many people will use space heaters to cut the chill – and increase the risk of a house or apartment fire.

Amid this week’s frigid temperatures, a space heater is being recalled for electric shock and fire hazards. While space heaters are generally safe to use to supplement furnaces during cold weather, this one is not, according to a recall posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
