President Donald Trump plans to announce trade deals and deliver tariff warnings on Monday, as countries negotiated through the weekend to avoid the highest punitive measures on their exports to the US before a Wednesday deadline.

President Donald Trump cranked up the pressure on two of America’s key trading partners, Japan and South Korea, firing off letters Monday to the heads of their countries, informing them of their new tariff rate.

President Donald Trump on Monday informed Japan and South Korea that 25% tariffs will be imposed starting Aug. 1 on goods sent to the United States.

President Donald Trump said he’ll impose tariffs of 25% on goods from Japan and South Korea beginning Aug. 1, giving the two export powers a narrow three-week window to open their markets to American products and manufacture more in the US to avoid his unilateral levies.

President Donald Trump threatened to add a 10% tariff rate on BRICS-aligned countries. The term first applied to 4 countries but the group expanded.

The president said the levy will apply to "any country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of Brics".
