Aryna Sabalenka displayed frustration and anguish but battled back from a set down to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals. The world No1 appeared close to crashing out of the Championships at multiple occasions at the hands of the unseeded 37-year-old Laura Siegemund but won 4-6 6-2 6-4 in a fraught encounter on Centre Court.

Aryna Sabalenka completed a hard-fought comeback against Laura Siegmund to avoid elimination and move on to the semifinals at Wimbledon. The pair met at center court on Tuesday morning as Siegmund looked for another upset win after eliminating Madison Keys in the third round.

Aryna Sabalenka was dragged into a bygone era on Tuesday and tormented for almost three hours on Wimbledon’s Centre Court before finally imposing her 21st-century power game to beat mesmeric Laura Siegemund for a place in the semi-finals.
