A group of Red Wing High School students is planning a walkout on Friday in response to the school district’s cancellation of a Black History Month assembly featuring Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Students are planning to protest at Red Wing High School after the district canceled a Black History Month event featuring Attorney General Keith Ellison scheduled for Thursday, citing "concerns over significant disruptions.

Superintendent Bob Jaszczak wrote in an email to parents the event was canceled over concerns of “significant disruption,” but didn’t specify what those disruptions could be.
