Denny McCarthy ended a miserable day in a most brilliant manner Thursday at the Genesis Invitational, closing birdie-eagle for a 4-under 68 on a Torrey Pines course that more than lived up to its reputation as a beast.

The rain didn't stop the biggest golf fans from making their way to the iconic Torrey Pines Golf Course. From every corner of the region and from nearly every generation, the sentiment was relatively the same: They all came out for the love of the game.
