The lawsuit alleges that a decision in May to remove COVID-19 vaccines from the federal list of recommended vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women was unlawful.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and other leading medical groups are suing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The lawsuit claims the Health and Human Services secretary violated federal law when he changed COVID-19 vaccine recommendations to say pregnant women and healthy children no longer need the inoculation.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, which typically attends ACIP meetings as one of 30 liaison members, is now boycotting the ACIP meetings. Other medical groups slammed the "politicized" remake of the vaccine advisory panel.
