Two separate shootings involving Chicago police were reported on the South Side early Monday morning. Around 3:15 a.m., the Civilian Office of Police Accountability responded to a shooting involving an off-duty Chicago police officer in the 1400 block of East 75th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.

The shooting happened early Monday in the 1400 block of East 75th Street after officers responded to calls of a person threatening residents, police said.

A second person was found dead at the same South Side facility where a knife-wielding man was fatally shot early Monday morning by Chicago police officers. Authorities say the second man was found with cuts on his body,
